Around 1977 members of Iredell Rescue Squad seen a need for a substation in northern Iredell County to reduce the response time from Statesville Base 3 located on HWY 115 so Base 3A was formed it was located in a mobile home just across the street from the Burger Barn.We had 1 hearse ambulance and 1 rescue truck with all hand tools on it.Later we moved to the Medi-Rx drug store on the corner of 901 and Tabor Road where we occupied the back of the building and the bays and in 1990 we purchased a large rescue truck with hydralic tools on it.In 1993 we started construction on a new base across the street and in 1997 we split out from Iredell Rescue to form North Iredell Rescue Squad and we are still located there today providing rescue coverage to the northern part of Iredell County.
